Obayashi built a distribution center on Company-owned land (Osaka Material/Equipment Center) and started leasing operations in July 2012. In addition to the site being highly convenient for truck transport, the center has drawn attention for its environmental sensitivity. For example, Obayashi has started a solar power generation business at the distribution center that utilizes the entire roof of the center (approximately 13,000 square meters), thereby becoming the first major construction company to serve as a power provider.
