S&P/JPX Carbon Efficient Index

The index is published by the S&P Dow Jones Index, one of the world's largest independent index companies, based on carbon emissions data provided by Trucost, a pioneer in environmental assessment. It focuses on the state of disclosure of environmental information and the level of carbon efficiency.
This index is one of the ESG indexes that the Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF), the world's largest pension funds, reference for its ESG investments.

MSCI ESG Leaders Index (*1)

Published by the stock index provider MSCI (Morgan Stanley Capital International), the index selects companies with excellent ESG performance from top 500 stock by market capitalization.

MSCI Japan ESG Select Leaders Index (*1)

An ESG Composite Index based on ESG research from MSCI, which is used by more than 1,000 companies worldwide. It consists of Japanese stocks with relatively high ESG ratings in the industry.
This index is one of the ESG indexes that the Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF), the world's largest pension funds, reference for its ESG investments.

MSCI Japan Empowering Women Index (WIN) (*1)

Comprised of Japanese companies that lead the industry in gender diversity initiatives while maintaining the ESG performance of MSCI.
This index is one of the ESG indexes that the Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF), the world's largest pension funds, reference for its ESG investments.

Euronext Vigeo World 120 Index

Published by NYSE Euronext and ESG rating agency V.E. (part of Moody's ESG Solutions). The index is composed of the top 120 companies (of which 18 are Japanese companies) in terms of environment, social, and governance in Europe, North American, and Asia-Pacific regions.

Other External Evaluation Regarding ESG

CDP Climate Change 2021

The report is issued by CDP, an international non-profit organizaition based in London. The CDP surveyed about 13,000 companies and municipalities worldwide at CDP Climate Change 2021. It assessed them in terms of their activities and strategy toward climate change. Companies with particularly good efforts are named to the Climate Change A List. In 2021, 200 companies (of which 56 were Japanese companies) were named to the A List.

2021 Supplier Engagement Rating

The Supplier Engagement Rating evaluates the climate change initiatives of enterprises' entire supply chains in four categories: governance, targets, Scope 3 emissions, and value chain engagement. In the 2021 Supplier Engagement Rating, of the approximately 12,000 companies subject to evaluation, more than 500 companies worldwide and 105 companies in Japan, including Obayashi, have been recognized as Supplier Engagement Leaders.

EcoVadis

EcoVadis is a France-based sustainability assessment organization that evaluates more than 85,000 companies in 160+ countries and 200+ industries based on four survey categories: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement. Obayashi has been certified as a "Gold" company, which is one of the top 5% of all companies subject to evaluation, for consecutive years since 2020.
